Impatient Bride!!

I'm beginning to think I'm probably the most impatient bride ever. I think about our wedding every single day. What do I think about you ask? I think about my Maid of Honor & my dad calming me down right before I walk down the isle. I know I will be a bundle of emotions that day! I think about the expenses of course. Let me tell ya, its not like a fairy tale when you have the expenses left in your own hands. That being said, I think Brian & I will feel very accomplished after the wedding is all over. We actually discussed the idea of eloping! I honestly thought about it for a while and then realized I couldnt go get married without my friends & family there. After talking to our recently married friends we realized that the idea of eloping to save money is a natural thought!! I told Brian I couldnt elope and he said "Whatever you want, babe!" I'm hoping he has this attitude when the heavy planning has begun! Haha! I have picked out a beautiful gown. However, I only picked it out in a magazine. Many people have said I will end up in something completely different. I definately think about the reaction people will have when I'm all done up. I often get the chills when I see the bride walk down the isle. I can only hope to have the same impression on those who mean most to us! In September our friend Liz got married. Right when we were waiting for her to come down the isle Brian & I both teared up. If he has that reaction with a friend, I just cant wait to see his reactions during our ceremony. The vows? Be prepared to see some tears from me! Tears of happiness of course!!

We are going to start making some wedding purchases in the summer. I'm thinking... what are the small things that you forget to get until close to the wedding? Any ideas? Let me know! I believe we are going to get our wedding bands soon. I'm so excited. When we picked them out I "jokingly" told Brian I was going to wear it around the house & pretend. Ha ha! I suppose that is why he'd rathar wait till closer to the wedding to get them. Little did he know, I was serious. Ha! It was so weird picking out our wedding bands. I'm thinking he wants to wear his every day since he asked the guy what the strongest one would be. It was different to see him with a ring on. Especially on his left hand! I remember being there & looking at his hand & smiling. We have to get back there soon to get my engagement ring cleaned... And so I can see that again!!

There is not much else to say as we are still pretty far away from the date. I just wanted to write & tell everyone that Brian & I are great. The plans, as minimal as they are, are coming along nicely. I'm just trying hard to be the patient bride & keep my excitement to a minimum. Ha! Good luck with that!!

Mostly Italy

The photo above was take by the Gondolier only minutes after Brian proposed. The gondolier was so nice. I'll never forget him saying "Hello, you say yes? You cry happy tears?" Ha!! Then when we were getting off the boat he said "You have a happy life together, have lots of beautiful children!" and Brian said "Whoa buddy" Haha!
Venice Italy

This is a photo from Florence Italy. He just makes me laugh sometimes. Really...

Kisses from Roma! (Rome in Italian)

The photo below we were at Vatican City, Rome. I kept hoping to see the pope. It definately never happened but I had high hopes it would!

This is a lucky fountain. We also have photos of us throwing the coin in above our left shoulder. In Rome there were men EVERYWHERE handing out roses telling the women they were "Free". Brian and I were in mid-kiss for this photo and this guy comes up trying to give me a rose. Brian was not very fond of it. Shortly after we went to the spanish steps. While there, I was also approached by a very annoying man trying to give me a rose. While Brian and I were trying to enjoy the scenery he kept following us around, so Brian pulled out his umbrella and shoo'd him away. He literally said "Shoo fly". I thought there would be a fight. Needless to say there wasnt and the "fly" left after that.

This is us... enjoying the sights of Rome.

I love the picture above. Look closely in the background, a lot of people dont even see Brian until I point him out.

There is no such thing as over affectionate in Italy

Shh baby sleeping... He really was too!! This was us flying Alitalia (WORST Airline EVER!!) to Italy. Couldnt wait to get there believe me!!

The photo below was taken at Senior Prom in 2002 (I told you the pictures are all mixed up). Its truly one of my favorite photos. I dont think either of us knew our picture was being taken. I remember that exact moment. We were just so young!

This is another photo from our camping trip in 2002 for my 19th birthday. Another old photo that captured our youth!

Well, thats it for me today. I still have a few more photos to upload. This entry took forever and I'm really hoping it works when I go to send it. Ha ha. Just my luck right? Hope you enjoyed the pictures!! I'll be back soon...

Just a few photos

This was actually our first date. We went bowling with a few of our friends from work. This girl thankfully brought her camera because this is one picture I truly cherish. It captured our young love. :)

A camping trip for my 19th birthday. Brian was licking the cake off my face that he smeared on there. Look closely, you'll see his little sister Rianna on my lap. I love her! She's now 7!!

My first entry!!

Hello everyone! How exciting it is to join the blogging world. I figured this would be a great thing to look back on once our wedding has come and surely much more after. Since this is supposed to be a blog about Brian & I, I suppose I should give the basics as this point. I'd love to insert pictures, but I'm so completely new to this and I'd hate to look like a fool. So someone please tell me how to do so! Ha ha. Without further adu, I tell you the story of Brian and Candice...

Brian and I have been together for almost seven years. We're an amazing couple. Best friends. We've been through more than many people our age, but we're fortunate enough to have been through it together. We met in 2002, when we worked together at Lone Star Steakhouse. He was a cook, and I was a server. It wasn't necessarily love at first sight, but I knew I really liked him when he offered to take me to my senior prom. (remind me to add pictures from that!) Officially dating only about a week, he was my first boyfriend to come with me to prom. As time went on, we became closer than we ever thought possible. We attended each other's high school graduation, we support each other on a constant basis, and we love each other so very much. Christmas day 2006, Brian gave me a single envelope. I was highly confused, as I thought this thin envelope couldn't possibly hold this gift he was so ecstatic about! I opened it and first saw a passport application. Confusion grew high as I looked at the next paper. It was a letter written in Italian. WHAT?? I knew something was going on as his grandparents were videotaping the entire thing. I looked at Brian with wrinkled eyebrows and his mom yelled "you're going to Italy!" Wow! What a gift!! We ventured to Italy in May of 2007. This was by far, the best time of my life. It was the night of June 1, 2007 that Brian asked me to be his wife.
We got to Venice on Friday June 1st and it was POURING and I was a little upset because I wanted to go on a Gondola ride so bad. That's what I had been looking forward to forever. So when it got dark out the rain let up and we had some trouble finding a Gondola because the waters were so high. Needless to say, we found one and I was so happy. The gondolier took us on this canal that he claimed was the "most romantic in Venice" and apparently his uncle already told the guy he was going to propose, so he knew what was going on. We get back into this quiet canal.. so quiet Brian had to whisper when he was asking me. He put his arm around me and whispered "Babe, you know I love you right?" and I said "Yes, I love you too" and he said "Good, I have to take this off now" and he began to take off my promise ring. I thought it was a joke at first and I was not happy. Ha ha. Then I asked why and he said "So I can put this on" and he put on my ring. I felt his hand shaking and then I noticed his heart pounding in his sweatshirt. I looked at him and asked him "Really?" about eight times and he said "Will you marry me baby?" and I of course said yes and cried even more. I was so freaking happy. He was too. When we got on land he picked me up, spun me around said "Its us babe! I'm so happy! Its us forever!" He never stopped smiling. Ah, it was the greatest night in my entire life. Our heads were in the clouds after that, we went out to dinner and couldn't stop smiling at each other. Now, in October of 2008, Brian is working two jobs and saving money, as I study harder than ever before, in the quest of the wedding we are so yearning for.

As of now, nothing much is planned. We know the colors we'd like, we know the date, we have an idea about the bridal party & we know we are meant for each other and that's probably the most important thing, right?

I must stop rambling now. Truth is, I could talk about my relationship with Brian forever. Sure, there are always some bumps along the road, but it makes us so much stronger. The bond we have is completely amazing and I simply cant imagine how it will be when we're man and wife.
